Using the advanced hardware technologies deployed in the WLA-210A, the new WLA-210XP is the passive variant.

WLA-210XP features custom phase plugs and the extra-ordinary Wharfedale Pro EVO-Fold waveguide.  Combined, these lead to a huge reduction in the usual phase issues that traditional 2-way line arrays have due to them having the drive units physically some distance apart in the array.

The matching dual 15″ passive subwoofer (pictured), WLA-210XSUB, is the perfect partner for WLA-210XP.  Meanwhile, the optional WLA-210X Common Fly Frame completes the system and allows for versatile system configurations of either subwoofer or array elements or both..

The WLA-210XP system is supported with downloadable FIR presets for DP-F / N series amplifiers.  FIR presets are also available for the SC-48 FIR Loudspeaker Management System for use with other amplifiers such as XR series or CPD series.  For detailed system design WLA-210XP is also supported with downloadable .gll files for Ease Focus.

WLA-210XP has been designed and engineered in the UK and is targetted at the touring and fixed install sectors.

The two crafted phase plugs result in a more consistent frequency response off axis.  

The design is usually unseen behind the grille…..but the impact these have on the system performance is stunning.

EVO-FOLD

The central 3.0″ HF compression driver is directly coupled to our EVO-Fold waveguide. 

EVO-Fold reduces the usual phase issues that traditional 2-way line arrays have due to them having the drive units physically some distance apart in the array. The HF compression driver is loaded to a unique EVO-Fold horn. The EVO-Fold horn combines a unique folded and manifold design. The most advanced FEM technology has been used to create this.

The high-mid energy exits produce a uniphasic sound in the widest range of frequencies. And visually, the detail of the EVO-Fold waveguide is a work of art.

BI-AMP & PASSIVE MODES

In BI-AMP mode, two power amplifier channels can be used, one for each section of the loudspeaker (HF compression driver and LF transducers). DSP (Digital signal processing) is used to separate the audio signal into specific frequency bands for each amplifier channel, powering only the corresponding driver section inside the loudspeaker. This gives you the advantage of being able to select the optimal power specifications and use independent limiter and EQ settings for each driver, resulting in more granular system control and a safer, more efficient, and protected system.

In PASSIVE mode, a single amplifier channel can be used to power all drivers inside the loudspeaker. The full frequency range is put into the loudspeaker and the loudspeakers’ internal passive crossover separates the frequencies, delivering the right frequencies to the right driver. In the example of a 2-way passive loudspeaker, this means that the single amplifier channel is powering both the HF compression driver and the LF transducers. The internal crossover takes care of both the frequency and power separation.

The Wharfedale Pro Preset Library includes factory presets for both BI-AMP and PASSIVE modes, these must be used for optimal loudspeaker performance and protection.

Designed and Engineered in the UK, they deliver the power to impress.

About the clarity

The HF compression driver delivers additional clarity and performance with enhanced definition.

It is custom made by Wharfedale Pro and is coupled to the EVO-Fold waveguide resulting in 100° x 10° dispersion.

Optional FLY FRAME

Arrays can be assembled using only WLA-210XP line array elements or with the WLA-210SUB Subwoofers at the top of the array.

The WLA-210X Common Fly frame supports up to 12 x WLA-210XP elements and a WLA-210SUB.

EASE DOWNLOAD
